Oksana Hodovanska (1977) is a historian and anthropologist, a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Ethnology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (in Lviv). She obtained her academic degree “kandydat nauk” (Ph.D. equivalent) from Ivan Krypyakevych Institute of Ukrainian Studies, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 2006. The areas of her expertise is included migration flows in Ukraine and abroad, the history and formation of the modern Ukrainian diaspora community, a history of everyday lifes. Her book "Newest Ukrainian diaspora: labour migrants in Italy, Spain and Portugal" (in Ukrainian) published in Lviv in 2011. Since 2013 she has been a member the Shevchenko Scientific Society of Ethnographic committee. Her current research focuses on the transformation of everyday lives in the villages Ukrainian of Galicia in the end 20th century and beginning 21th century.
