Oksana Kuzmenko (1969) – philologist and folklorist, PhD in Philology, senior research associate at the Institute of Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The Candidate Dissertation (=PhD) was defended in specialty “Folklore studies” – 10.01.07 at a specialized defense committee meeting in Ivan Franko Lviv National University in 2000. Oksana lives and works in Lviv. She authored an illustrated academic collection Riflemen songs (Lviv, 2005) and a monograph Riflemen Songs: Folklorism, Folklorizarion, Folklority. (Lviv, 2009) and co-authored a multi-volume collection Lemkowie, bojkowie, rusini – historia, współczesność, kultura materialna i duchowa [Lemkos, Boykos and Ruthenians – History, Nowadays, Material and Spiritual Culture](T. V. Zielona Góra, 2015; T. VI. Słupsk, 2016). In 2008 held a Józef Mianowski Fellowship at the Polish Academy of Sciences. In 2014-2017 – a doctorant (=post-doctoral student), currently finishing her doctorate (=doctor habilitatus) monograph The Drama of Human Existence in Ukrainian Folklore: Conceptual Forms of Expression. Since 2005 – member of Folklore Studies Commission at the Shevchenko Scientific Society, since 1998 – the Commission Secretary. Her present scholarly interests abide within the field of semantic and structural research of folklore units which reflect the 20th century historical milestones. Scholarship interests: historical poetics of folklore, dynamics of folklore tradition, methods of conceptual analysis of verbal folklore texts, integral interdisciplinary folklore studies. e-mail: List of publications by Oksana Kuzmenko
